Hi All, I'm just wondering if any consideration was ever given for a medal or bar for those involved in the Siege of Calais? Paul
It has been mentioned once or twice before http://ww2talk.com/index.php?search/3506209/&q=dunkirk+medal&o=relevance Using the search facility on the site TD Petition: Award a campaign medal to those who fought in France & Norway between 1939-40.
Thank you TD. I did search, but obviously not well enough! It is a shame that the Petition didn't get more votes. I was unaware of it. Paul
Yeah. I gave it a shot. MOD and the Medals and Decorations Committee not interested and feel the existing 1939-45 campaign medal is sufficient (but how can the entire war be a campaign when separate campaign medals exist alongside it?) Anyway, I was considering giving the Scottish Parliament a go seeing as I live north of the border and as they previously awarded a Lancastria medal Appeal for heroes

Even a clasp such as the Battle of Britain clasp would be something.
I know. I did suggest that also. Submitted an email to Scottish Government yesterday so we will see what their response is.
