Can anyone help convert a map reference MR128315 into an Ordnance Survey or other current format? Should be somewhere north of Pevensey, Sussex Thanks in advance
this is what I found: Latitude : 50° 53' 24'' N Longitude : 0° 24' 22'' E That should be in Hazard's Green, to the West of Ninfield on the A269
That what I found as well Latitude : 50° 53' 24'' N Longitude : 0° 24' 22'' E 50.889884,0.406108 - Map of Cities in 50.889884,0.406108 - MapQuest TD
Have a look on here , Old-Maps - the online repository of historic maps - home page Put Ninfield in the search box & you can see some old maps of the area.
Thanks. That isn't where I thought it should be, must have the wrong reference. Thanks for your fast help Thanks, Owen, I often use those old maps, useful to see how places grow. Kevin
Here is another excellent couple of links for UK maps The Library of Scotland link in particular has a 'side by side' viewer enabling you to fade in and out different dated maps with current aerial imagery. National Library of Scotland - Map Images Grid reference finder is a good all round resource that I use regularly at work but has been somewhat diminished recently by its loss of access to Google Maps Grid Reference Finder I use the echodelta.net site all the time to find locations in Italy
I’ve come up with the same; Lower Standard Hill Farm on the Boreham Street to Ninfield road. Not sure what the “MR” prefix for the grid reference means, it should be “R” for this area. The map is from McMaster University. GSGS 3909, England & Wales, 1:63,360, Sheet 135 Hastings (1940). Richard
