Hi Guys, Has anyone got any information or photos regarding the Medium Dragon MK 1V, as used by the Royal Artillery, in France 1940? I am building a model kit of one at the moment, so anything would help. Kind Regards, Colonel Durnford.
If you search here on BEF dragon, one of the hits takes you to our BEF markings thread. Unfortunately, a lot of the relevant images were hosted externally and have since disappeared.
Hi Colonel 'Moving the guns' by Fletcher and Ventham has an excellent pic of a Mk IV from the top and some more of the prototype. IWM has several pics of MK IVs taken by the Germans and often knocked out. Otherwise none of my references appears to have more than one pic and most of them are pre war. Chris
Further to the above, Tankette Vol 19 No 5 is largely devoted to Medium Dragons of all Marks, from the late lamented John Church, but all the pics appear to be from UK. Tankette Vol 52 No 4 has a one page article on the Mk IV from David Fletcher, but the pics are small and dark Chris
Plan & overhead from Moving The Guns. Grab 'em now, Colonel, as I'll probably remove them later. (Apologies for quality - phone scanner. Send a PM if they'd be genuinely useful in higher quality.)
Hello there Mr Von Poop, thanks for the images, I found the quality ok, so just have saved them, for my own use of course!!
