One significant point I notice, it doesn't appear to matter which way up you flew the flag in those days or do I need to go to specsavers?

I wonder if they made the St George's Cross extra big because he was a Jock?

It's a nice piece of History.
The piece does not mention who purchased it, but I would have liked to see it go to a Museum with Naval History.

    Perhaps it will.

We're delighted that a Spanish naval ensign from our collection features in the fascinating new book The Secret Museum. This flag was captured during the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805, and was displayed at Lord Nelson's funeral service in St Paul's cathedral. You can buy The Secret Museum from today. I still think that is awesome. Any grumbles from Spain that they want it back?

Which is now making me wonder what else 'we' have - French Eagles nicked off Napoleon?

Had a friend take some overseas exchange students round the Royal Armouries,
They spent most of the time saying "'ere, thats ours - you nicked it!"
