I've got my Grandmother's 39-45 medal and her discharge book but very little information on her. I know the following; she enlisted 21-10-42 as a Barrage Balloon Operator and trained at RAF Cardington. at some point she remobbed as a telephonist and served at RAF Killadeas, Honeybourne and Milford Haven. she was discharged 23-08-45. There are no photos of her in uniform (not unusual i know) and although I'll be applying for her service records next week, I was wondering if anyone has any other avenues for research. thanks!
