Hi, There were likely "conducting officers IC Drafts" aboard troop ships taking reinforcements to Egypt and I've seen mention of officers performing that role for Canadian reinforcements crossing the Atlantic. Steve Y
Hi Max, I think it’s quite likely as I do recall seeing Canadian service file for an NCO accompanying a draft overseas. You see regular references to conducting officers in WW1 service files - mostly Canadian but I’ve seen Australians as well. I saw one last week for an officer accompanying an “Italian Draft” sailing from Sydney summer 1918. Steve
