Regarding the Recce jeep. It may have been Lt Guthrie with "Gunner" Webb driving. He used to mention his "Hollywood death" and knocking it out of gear!

Just taken delivery of my copy ,and will watch again tomorrow , you mention the recce jeep driver , my Arnhem medal group to the recce has paperwork detailing that the lad was used as a driver in the movie , in the battle he was holed up in the bakery and is mentioned in Fairlys book a couple of times .

I came across these photos of the premiere of "Theirs is the Glory" at the Gaumont Theatre, London, on Getty Images.

"The Prime Minister with members of the Cabinet and other prominent personalities, attended the London premiere of the film Theirs is the Glory, the story of the airborne landings at Arnhem, at the Gaumont Theatre, Haymarket. Simultaneous premieres took place at Arnhem and in Canada."



"A party of Dutch girls who helped to tend British wounded after the first landing at Arnhem arrived at Liverpool Street Station, London, to act as programme sellers at the premier of Theirs Is the Glory, Arnhem film, at the Gaumont, Haymarket, to-night (Tuesday). The girls belong to the Dutch equivalent of the WVS."
