Enjoyed these photos vespa100. Thanks for posting. I was looking at the cap badge, thought it might be one of variant badges for the associated BW regiments, Canadian, South African and so on.

 

The man selling the photos at the car boot sale told me he sold the gents cap badge earlier on in the day, I said to him that they should never be split up, what a shame.

 

That is a shame, I always feel it is wrong to split items up such as this example. It takes away the personal angle and of course any provenance to the collection.

 

I have been to see the house clearance guy a brought these photos from today he said he also sold his insignia last week for a couple of pounds, people just don't know their history, what a shame they all got split up, but I did get this dance poster from him dated 1943 but with no commando connect

The style of collar and use of number reminds me of old police uniforms. Is that the letters MP on his epaulette?
