I was researching some family history about my grandfathers firm King and Harpers running a fleet of tractors for the Board of Agriculture in the Cambridge area during WW1. When I came across this:
    article dated 2 April 1947:

"Field-Marshall Hermann Goering's Super-Mercedes bullet-proof car is going to help the Mayor's Fen

Flood Relief Fund in Cambridge. It will be exhibited at Messrs King & Harper's Bridge Street garage. The car, captured by the British Army, weighs five tons with an engine roughly four times bigger than the average 8 h.p. one. The engine is equivalent in volume to that of the average-size bus"

I then researched the car and came across this youtube clip from Pathe news which forum members might be interested in:

Custom-built Mercedes belonging to Hitler's deputy Herman Goering to be restored after spending over half a century in a North Carolina garage | Daily Mail Online

    Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

Various shots of the Mercedes car that once belonged to Hermann Goering being driven along a country road. It goes into the drive of 'New Lodge' and parks beside a row of cars there (Bentley, Rolls and others). Owner Raymond Way comes out of the house and comes over to the car.

Commentator tells us that the car has been exhibited up and down the country to raise money for the dependants of soldiers, sailors and airmen (the SSAFA - Soldiers' Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association).

Way and the driver inspect the car, looking under the bonnet, examining the bullet-spattered windscreen and windows, opening a door to show the armour plating on the bottom of the car and looking in the spacious boot. C/Us showing features of the car. Pan across the row of cars, including Winston Churchill's Daimler and the Duke of Windsor's Buick.Goering's Car
