Not out yet and the whole shebang is off to an extremely rocky start. In comparison U-571 and Pearl Harbour look appear authentic blow by blow recreations in comparison. New Movie About Winston Churchill is a ‘Perverse Fantasy Which Deserves to be a Flop’
This one's crept up on me and is being released on 2 June, which is quite apt as it only deals with the last few days before D-Day. The man himself is being played by Brian (original Hannibal) Cox and the director did The Railway Man. A Montgomery is credited, so I wonder what slant they'll put on him? Churchill (2017) - IMDb The only IMDB reviews at present are in German which really helps.
Sounds interesting! Don't know how to add a link, but I did find a trailer on YouTube. Any ideas about release in Holland?
AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. Complete and utter shit. They absolutely tunzeled the whole thing. Pure fiction. "The worst war movie of a generation." New Movie About Winston Churchill is a ‘Perverse Fantasy Which Deserves to be a Flop’

I was a bit confused by the BBC Front Row review as it seemed very positive (at least re. Brian Cox who they were interviewing there ;-) and... Churchill (film) - Wikipedia Has... (Under critical responses etc)... Churchill (film) - Wikipedia Rather mixed responses too ;-) With... " "inert, decorous, and almost absurdly repetitive," and wrote: "All too often, it toes the line that separates legitimately stupid movies from ones that merely presume that the viewer is stupid." Though a lot of praise for Brian Cox himself "Brian Cox's towering performance in Churchill is worthy of the great man himself" And the author of the film's script... Alex von Tunzelmann - Wikipedia Apparently "writes a weekly column for the Guardian in which she discusses and rates popular films for their historical accuracy". Not sure what went wrong
