Never seen a Vickers on a bipod until now, just found this photo. Can't imagine it being a good idea. Looks like it may be a dismounted vehicle or AA mg. I wonder what the ammunition box colour is and why (given the colour of the a/c)? I agree, not a good idea. I sincerely hope that the gunner is so far forward to be in the photo - shouldering the beast would need a butt and revised trigger. Certainly not a 'point target weapon'.
