I am helping a relative to research his fathers war history , he was a fitter with the Royal Armoured Corps and was with the 7th armoured brigade HQ squadron from 1941 to 1945 . We have his service records. Would this unit have kept its own diary ? and where be the best place to find a copy? Any other pointers to the HQ squadron history would also be welcome. Thanks Craig
National Archives and without checking I would say let but they would be very admin focused and not a lot of use to what a fitter was doing except where the unit was on a day to day basis. Hope that makes sense? They'll probably be quite thick as well. A
