Love the song and the artist but it always makes me sad to see the Trade Center towers in the background in lower Manhattan.
Listening to the vehicular wireless (car radio) this afternoon this song was played: 'Tulips from Amsterdam' by Max Bygraves (also ex-RAF WW2): It had been No 3 in the British Top 20 this week in 1958. Sing along with Max!
Can't get this tune out of my head. Heard it for the first time the other night in the closing scenes of the movie "Smoke". Odd movie, but will watch it again to try to fully appreciate it. This song is hauntingly wonderful if that makes any sense. At least to me anyway, in the wee hours. You know how things in the wee hours means more than they do at other times.
