    Hello guys

I've found this pair of covers in a barn in Belgium.

The covers are marked BHG 1941 and a broad Arrow, so british ww2, they are used during war, not a stock piece...

They are too small to be anklets or leggings, they just fit around my under arm. Diameter of around 10-12cm. I think it could be an arm protective cover, but is it so, or is it something totally different? I heard they used similar arm covers for artillery? Does anyone has a clue?

    Thanks to all of you!

I don't know the answer to your question but they do look similar to wrist protectors used by Archers...although that form of Artillery is somewhat older than WW2!

They aren't made for either legs or arms. If the were then they would have some 'shape' to them without doubt...

What they are I don't yet know...but I'm working on it....

I'm thinking some sort of 'barrel' cover like you get on some 2" mortars, or the back of a PIAT. However, the are usually all eyelets rather than hooks . The hooks suggest it's for something thay needs to be quickly laced or unlaced.

Not horses. They would (again) have some shape to them, and certainly not with hooks that could get caught in undergrowth.....
