Indeed it would have Kharkov. I havent read too many accounts from soldiers who were in the first line but many accounts for rear echelon troops talk of the sky being lit up and the most deafening sounds. In the eastern suburbs of Berlin, lights in houses began to swa of their own accord and pictures fell off walls. Seems like it made quite a din.
