I didn’t think about stamping on it. Geddit, green - shield - stamp? I’m here all week, available for birthdays…

I’m thinking crow. Was wondering jackdaw but they’re a bit more two-tone aren’t they.

Bloody hard to tell the difference in a photo isn’t it, although you saw it for real, of course.

I’m beginning to wonder whether “my” crows (see #1348) are, in fact, ravens as they are quite big and the beak seems more curved. Plus that little tuft on the leg looks more like what a raven has. That said, apparently they’re a lot rarer than crows, which are the more likely corvid to be seen in your garden. I’ve nowt to compare them to though and they don’t exactly stand in a line to be measured etc.

I’m probably now suffering from raven snobbery, it’s a bonafide complaint :D.

I think crow, though still not easy, but I think this one’s beak is more like a crow’s (raven’s is more curved apparently). This is our corvid bathing and drinking at the fish pond filter again, the cheeky git. Apologies for poor images, using my phone through conservatory window so some reflections:

    Uncle Target Mist over Dartmoor

Here we go again repeat of last years sleepless nights.
Lack of sleep crushed me last year and finished off our 15 year old Husky.
Taken by myself bleary eyed from my bedroom window at 0350 this morning.
The Vixen is suckling three cubs who noisily play on our and a neighbours lawn from dusk till dawn.
Chasing them off doesn't work and our dogs raging just keeps us awake. They live in the garden just out of picture.

More annoying was my other half's reaction. Getting bigger aren't they?
She sleeps all through it all,

When I woke up this morning she was on the patio weeding her strawberry pots, watched by the dog.

Good morning dear, had a nice lie in?
