What is the last WW2 Film or Series you saw?

A colleague has been working on helping his father, who was adopted, find his family. He has discovered that his grandfather was Norwegian and served on merchant ships during WW2.

Knowing my interest in DEMS and convoys, he suggested I watch 'Warsailor' and 'Narvik' (the latter does not involve convoys, but extremely interesting nonetheless).

Both are typical of Scandinavian drama, which I enjoyed very much while learning more about Norway and its involvement in WW2.

Cartoonish but still better than Pearl Harbor

The only good thing is Raymond Massey as a Nazi villain

I was six years old when I saw this for the first time. (Second run of the show on TV.) Got me hooked.

The Secret War with William Woollard. Fantastic series. Most of it once was available on YouTube, but I've since got it on DVD.

Photo Reconnaissance missions were long and lonely. It took a special breed of pilot to fly these missions.

As many forum members know German soldiers and sailors were used to clear land mines and sea mines after the war. This is movie is not for everyone.

Almost eighteen months there were three posts on the movie "Eight Hundred", which I not seen in full. Oddly IMHO there is no thread on that time and battle here, well I suppose it was a Sino-Japanese War, except the British watched from the nearby International Settlements.

Anyway there is a book about the incident: 'Eight Hundred Heroes: China’s Lost Battalion and the Fall of Shanghai' by Stephen Robinson and a review: #WavellReviews Eight Hundred Heroes by Stephen Robinson » Wavell Room
