Hi, This is my Grandpa's ID card from Malta. His record shows that he was stationed at Kalafrana and Ta Kali, but when I visited the Lascaris War Rooms in Valletta I was told it might be a pass for there.... that was RAF HQ, as far as I know. Has anyone seen a pass like this before, can you tie it to a specific base? Any information gratefully received. I did find a site yesterday that says RAF Signals Unit Malta was originally formed as Inter-Command Wireless Telephony Station, Malta. Wikipedia mentions Malta Command Signals and says The Signals Liaison Unit was indeed based at Lascaris - but this is all I#ve found so far.
The main thread is: Does it say which RAF unit? Am I just being blind? It would help to keep to one thread at this stage. Perhaps the moderators will merge the two?
