I have just recently come into possession of a British Army camouflage tent. The tent is in excellent condition for its age and comes with photos of the officer who owned the tent through WW2 and post-1945. I have searched all over the net and have only found a couple of threads regarding the tents. I was planning to pitch the tent today however it has been blowing a gale so will wait a day or two. I have posted a couple of images i found online to show the camouflage pattern and what the tent looks like. if anyone has any pictures or information regarding the tents that would be great. The photo of the tent in the bag is the tent I have.

    I'd say it's a Tent, Light Patrol:

First one I've seen (not that I've looked). No idea how rare they are.

Thanks for the reply, pretty impressed you could send copies of the handbook of tentage

This is the first time I have come across one, especially with the camouflage. I will get some photos this weekend and post

Sometimes I amaze even myself! Mostly by actually being able to find it.

It may also be of interest to camouflage aficionados. At least it's easy to detect the repeat in the pattern.

I do as well. Do not suppose you know where I could get a copy of the Pamphlet

There don't seem to be any about at the moment.

It's a 200-page 'pamphlet' so it will take some effort, but I will add it to the reprint queue...

I have one myself and have converted some aluminium poles from a post-wat tent to fit. The problem with them is they are of very lightweight construction as there name suggests so they will get damaged very quickly in hard use. Probably designed as disposable items issued for specific purposes. In heavy rain they will also allow a misting of rain to come through. They need a good application of Fabseal or equivalent product. They did a range of tents and marques in this material. I would consider a swap for mine for a conventional 2 man tent. There is more info on the FB military tent page.

That was my thought when I set it up was how thin the material was I am pleased that I have found one the only thing missing are the tent pegs, do you know what the tents were designed for
