It seems a common theme in Indian textbooks for some reason... indian text book errors - Google Search ...hence, I guess, the prevalence of people pointing out the "more" egregious ones... remarkably odd. Though, were the shoe on the other foot I suspect there'd be plenty of parody in old maps of how Europeans saw "their world" and the mistakes they routinely made translating things... ;-) Edit : This World Map Of Literally Translated Country Names Will Amaze You
