Remembering Otto Urbach, murdered in Auschwitz sometime after 19 August 1942. His wife Etelka had managed to reach England in 1939 as she had an occupation in demand: housemaid. Otto, who escaped from Austria with Etelka, was not allowed to accompany her to Britain by the British Government. He was interned in Belgium then deported to Auschwitz. Etelka worked as a maid for the then owners of my house.
