    marcus69x I love WW2 meah!!!

Just tried to google various searches to see if any sites came up offering things like this for sale. Didn't expect to find anything mind. Just makes me think, how do these buyers hear about them in the first place?

To be honest I am disregarding their economic welfare.
I think it is very very wrong to sell dead people. Especially those who gave so much for us. Two points though-
1.Where are the bodies really coming from?
2.Who the heck is buying them?

Like many of us have stated before the probably don't know their selling a soldeirs remains, they might think their from locals. Even if they were told the truth about a majority of their remains, I doubt it would change things.

@ Marcus: They probably go their in person and hear from the locals?

Regarding the government, I have a theory! The government probably dosen't give a damn becasue:

    • It would cost money for such a thing
    • It would take money away from the economy
    • What happenes to the soldiers remains would have little to no effect on the government or the masses, hence it is further down on the list.
It's sad yes I know but what can you really do about it? I'm actually going to look a bit more into this and see what happens to the remains. I've heard some pretty sick stuff happening to human remains, people putting them on display in their homes, using them for rituals, etc

Ghoulish , Richard no other word for it.

Sick is what I call it James.

That was a really good idea to get the locals to hand in any finds against a bounty.
The only problem is the payment as I do not think any of the governments would want to start making payments. They are always pleading poverty!

    Regards

The forum should buy them! then bury them again somewhere else! (my evil plan!) but then again...i doubt the forum has that kinda small change :(
i felt a slight revulsion when elven mentioned 'rituals'. thanks mate...thats just lovely...
I told my history lecturer, and he said some bad words i can't repeat here... but he has the same sentiments as Smudger

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone, I just don't think everyone buying these remains have the best intentions in mind.

I didn't mean it like that! I completely understand where you are coming from. Its disrespectful enough to dig them up and sell them... but other things

I've been doing some research and can't find any info on this matter aside from the main article! All forum posts and articles that are reporting on this are using that one source. I even looked around on sites specializing in World War era "memrobillia" and couldn't find any info.

Could it be possible this story was blown out of proportion? Of course such a system is probably existent, to a smaller extent it exists in North America as well. Maybe the media "spun" it so people like us would take note and spur some interest in the region. I'm suprised they didn't even have a image of even the village!
