Hi. I'm hoping you can give me some guidance.

I'd like to order in the near future a few sets of service records of relatives.

I'm looking at the MOD site and understand the whole Part One 'Next of Kin' Form or 'General Enquirers' Form depending on circumstances.

However, I'm having difficulty with Part Two of the documentation. Whenever I open up the specific Army or Navy request Doc I get a page which states:

It is essential that you complete this form as fully and accurately as possible.
When this form has been completed it should be returned to the address below:
RN Disclosure Cell, Room 48, West Battery, Whale Island, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO2 8DX

There is nothing on this page for me to complete. It is blank except for the above statement. Am I missing / not understanding something here?

    Hi

So you are here - Ministry of Defence | About Defence | What we do | Personnel | Service Records | Making a Request for Information held on the Personnel Records of Deceased Service Personnel

    and you have this-
    [ARCHIVED CONTENT] Page not found

or this one if not NOK-
    [ARCHIVED CONTENT] Page not found

    then you go here -
    [ARCHIVED CONTENT] Page not found
    if in the army
For each you need to click on the blue link at the bottom to produce a PDF file which you then print out.( the PDF does have the heading you noted above but then a form to fill in??)

    Is this what you wanted?

    regards

    Robert

Hello all! I am currently trying to find information on my great grandfather who served in both WW1 and WW2. I can only find information relating to WW2. I believe he served in the Pioneer Corps and his regimental number was 13014656. How would I be able to confirm if this person was him or not?

    Thank you!

    Guys,
I would greatly appreciate the contact details of the researcher in South Africa, my grand father served in WW2 and I want to get hold of as much information as possible.
    Thanks

I have applied to the MOD for my father's TA Army service records (1929-1945) and wondered if anyone has any experience or can give any indication as to how long it normally takes to receive them. I have set my mind on it being some considerable time!

Their receipt of my forms and payment sent 13/6/13 has not yet been acknowledged but perhaps it will not be.

We've just had acknowledgment of an application .. that took several weeks ... they say up to 12 months delay ... but last August application came in Jan

Some members received their records within 6 weeks, others 6-9 months. I would be prepared for a long wait, if they come any earlier it's a bonus :). All I can say is they are usually worth the wait.

    Uncle Jack, Lesley,

Thank you both very much! I won't be watching out for the 'postie', then! :)

    Helloo,

Is there a proper email address for Glasgow Army enquries? It's been over 2 years without a peep from them despite firing off the occasional email. Even used the FOI email address and still nought. I should have phoned.

I was given this info in 2012 by SPVA Veterans Help:

    The Army Personnel Centre
    MS Support Unit, P & D Branch
    Historical Disclosures, MP 555
    Kentigern House
    65 Brown Street
    GLASGOW G2 8EX

    Tel: 0845 600 9663
    Overseas: 0141 248 7890
    Email: Disc1@apc.army.mod.uk

    Regards ...

2 years-blimey! I would try phoning them, some folk ignore e-mails.

A couple of years old but try these:

    0141 224 2146

    e-mail
    disc4@apc.army.mod.uk

    Lesley

Edit: the 0845 number you quoted seems to be the most recent number

    Thanks so much Lesley,

Partially my fault I suspect for not phoning (overseas) and relying on email. I notice your addie is slightly different.

    Hi Cee,

The address you quote is the same as I have. The e-mail is the same as shown above quoted by Lesley.

However, I've had very recent success with the following APC MS Support Division telephone number :-

    0141-224-2743

If you ask for a gentleman called Roddy Hay, Historical Disclosures, he may be able to help you progress further and track down the non-response to your e-mails.

Hope this helps and that you are keeping well.

I'm still on the trail ......

    Best wishes,
    Lindsay

    Thanks Lindsay,

That's great info and I'll do that. I've let it slide while going off in a whole series of other directions. At the same time I didn't want to be too persistent and create a negative image. Something has gone amiss either from an error at my end or possibly with the mail. I regret now not making copies of the documents sent in at the time.

Hope all is well and those elusive bits of information you seek turn up soon.

    Cheers
