    RAF Culmhead
This was not quite the end, as in August 1945, the airfield was used as a out based storage site by 67 maintenance Unit, to hold some of the vast quantities of equipment and vehicles which had now become redundant and awaiting disposal.
Twelve months on this role had been completed here and in August 1946, RAF Culmhead was finally closed.

    Marshalsea Hydrolics Ltd of Taunton.
The Marshalsea Company was founded in 1830 by Albert Marshalsea who manufactured horse-drawn carriages. By 1910 it had diversified into coach building for motor cars. At the outbreak of World War 2, the Marshalsea factory was taken over by the RAF and used to maintain and repair fighter planes. By the end of hostilities, the manufacture of aircraft components had graduated into hydraulic systems for aircraft and guided missiles, and valves for the mining industry.

Maintenance units responsible for salvage were responsible for vast areas of the country.
