Hi all, I am not sure that I am posting in the correct forum however, I am looking if anyone could provide a picture to what soldiers where given when first joining up. I am making a commemorative medal frame for my great uncle who was killed during the war. Whilst we have some items of his, there are other things that I would like to put in it. He was signed up as a boy in 1932 to the QORWK as a musician and eventually went on to become a driver (was captured in Dunkirk in the retreat). Reading a journal article by a friend of his, he states when joining they were given (amongst other things) a range of badges and buttons, I have a cap badge and one brass shoulder title of his. But would like to add buttons and collar dogs as well, however I don’t really know which ones he will have been given at that time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can provide any information about him if required. Best Ross
Might be worth contacting their museum Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regimental Museum | Maidstone Museum
