    Hello,

Sadly my father and I are no longer the owners of ww2talk.com, I have so many offers for the site over the last year and turned them all down flat.

However recently with pressures at home, work and study I just cant keep everything going.

This site has evolved greatly over the time I have had it and I have enjoyed watching it grow as it will continue to.

Keeping down a full time job at senior management level, studying to complete my accountancy exams and 3 children and so on is not easy.

So I have had a long hard think about what I can cut down on to make time for all the other aspects of my life.

I had to choose between this very established site and the holocaust site which is very much in its infancy. myself and my father have chosen to stick with and develop the holocaust site.

For me I can contribute much more to that site in terms of content than the varied subjects here, and as much as I have learnt and enjoy all the views here my contribution has been little overall. I feel more a watcher and administrator and I want to be more than that to my sites.

This site probably unknown to most take quites a bit of managing day to day as it grows. But trying to do that and the holocaust when it really starts to grow will be difficult.

So there you go, I am certainly sad about giving up the reigns but there you go, needs must, I wanted to get by the first birthday of the site this month but pressures wont allow it.

So your new admin will be along soon and in the meantime I just wanted to thank all of you for the time, effort and support you have all shown this site. Salientpoints, KiwiWriter, Friedrich H, Angie999, Gerry Chester, Paul Reed, the rest of the moderators and members, you have all been a great support.

For those who have hosting with me that will remain and I will continue to support your sites without time limit so dont worry about that.

The only change is simply the owner and that I am no longer the admin for this site, everything else will remain in place with me.

Thats really all I can say about it at the moment, no doubt there will be questions.

See you over at the Holocaust site!

    Lee

    Lee,

I can well understand the pressures of running an evolving site like this and I guess I have to say that I can well understand your reasons and I look forward to getting to know the new owner/admin.

But on a more personal level, although we have never met I can only hope that all the members will join me in saying that you have been a real online friend to us, in thanking you for everything you have done and in hoping that you will stay as an active member, because we value what you have to say.

And best wishes with the Holocaust site - well, I would say that being an active member there also, but it is something much needed and will make a valuable contribution to keeping this history alive and a vibrant topic of genuine debate.

Lee - sorry to read this but quite understand your reasons for doing so. As others have said, thanks for developing the site and all your hard work. I hope the new owners have a similar vision.

See you on the Holocaust Forum.

    Hi lee,

I too, can understand the pressure that both you and your dad have been under. You have both carried out out some great work on the boards and i hope that the holocaust site grows as it is a very important link to the those sad events.

i also second the seniment expressed by the others.

    Lee:

Totally understandable. Sometimes we have to stop our lives for a moment, take inventory and then revamp. You gotta do, what you gotta do. Trust me, I've had to do this myself within the last few years and was happy that I had the guts to make a decision before things got overwhelming. If you let it get to that point, it doesn't do anyone any good. You simply can't give it your best.

So, thanks for everything and I'm sure everyone here wishes you nothing but continued success and happiness with all your endeavors. I look forward to the growth and progress of your holocaust site and will be more than happy to give it a plug on my site.

All the best with your new endeavour. Although a fairly new member , this has been the most useful of all the WWII sites that I have found. I hope the new admin. :( continues with the same high standard that you have set.

I don't get as many opportunities to participate here as I would like due to my own committments to maintaining a large and diverse web site -- so I know only too well the time and effort involved in operating a site such as this.

Thank you very much for providing this great facility, I wish you success in your other endeavor.

    Hi Lee,

I can only echo what everyone else has said. You've
been a great help to me with my site, I know mine
is only an interest, but this has taken up so much of my
time, so I couldn't start to imagine the time you spend
    on it.

Thanks again for all your help and I hope you stay
    in touch.

Good luck with your next adventure and hope they're
    as successful as this one.

    Warmest regards

    Kieron

Thank you all for your kind comments they are appreciated.

When I took over the forum a year ago there were 104 members and 934 posts (sad, yes I do keep notes of these things).

Now we are approaching 1000 members and 10,000 posts, that makes me happy we have come so far but of course sad I am not the driver to take us the 20,000 mark!

This forum has certainly ensured its future though which is great whoever owns it.

And I did keep those annoying adverts away for the whole time ;)

Many thanks for creating this site which has set me off on a quest for my father's wartime history - it has opened my eyes to events I'd never even heard of.
And good luck wit the new site, accountancy exams and 3 kids (wait 'til you start paying for their first steps as drivers - I know whereof I speak!)
