Thanks for that information regarding HMS Goatfell and confirming that the ship was the victim of an air attack.

I see both articles refer to four crew being killed. I haven't been able to identify a fourth casualty, though I do have the following deaths listed on the 11th with no ship/establishment identified.

GURNEY, Thomas E, Seaman, RNPS, LT/JX 194313, killed [HEMEL HEMPSTEAD (HEATH LANE) CEMETERY]
TREADWELL, Donald V, Seaman, RNPS, LT/JX 205319, killed [SOUTHEND-ON-SEA (NORTH ROAD) CEMETERY]

    Regards,

    Steve

They are referenced to Pembroke and Pembroke IV respectively and died in 'London'

Thanks for that. I guess the four deaths from HMS Goatfell is possibly in error. I note that the BBC WW2 article is incorrect regarding HMS Foylebank, it says 176 killed, when the actual losses were 73 killed/DOW, so it is possible that the recollection Goatfell in similarly in error.
