    Hi,

Sadly the above member passed away a few days ago, he was without doubt a war hero and served his country to the full during ww2.

Although he never posted here he was very active in the forums reading all the posts and I had many chats with him by pm.

    Yet another sad loss.

    RIP.

Sorry to hear that - should be another reason to seek out WW2 veterans and speak to them while they are still with us.

I'm talking away to the 10 surviving Desert Rats of 6th LAA Battery, The Coleraine Battery. Their insights and experiences are documented at

Have a good read and let me know what information you would like added to the site. Although they were all volunteers, there were many English conscripts drafted into the Battery during the war.
