4KSLI were paired with 3rd Battalion Royal Tank Regiment at that time. I have a copy of the 3RTR War Diary so could look up those dates if you are interested. Are you focussing on any particular action?

Hi SDP, I've got 3 RTR diaries just trying to cross compare to check facts and make sure of some things that occured against what is said in some memoirs written long after the events in question. I shall just have to go back to Nat Archs myself, been once already this week and didn't want to make a second journey...but needs must and all that!

I guess you are researching the actions around the Husum, Neinberg and Linsburg areas?

Have you seen the books 'No Triumphant Procession' by John Russell and 'The Sharp End' by John Langdon of 3RTR?

Similarly there are a number of threads on this forum covering the actions on the Rivers Weser, Leine and Aller areas.

Thanks SDP, I haven't seen those books but I shall look them out now. I'm more interested on the advance on Osnabruck as I am trying to help a fmaily research the death of a relative in the attempt to 'bounce' the canal at Osnabruck.

Thanks for the tips I shall certainly look into those.

John Russell (JDKR) occasionally visits this forum. His book is out of print but copies come up occasionally on eBay (4 copies there at the moment). John Langdons book was published privately a few years ago and is also now out of print and exceptionally rare. I have copies of both books so, if you need any snippets, please let me know.
