A friend of mine from London is a book fair and car booter , on one of his travels he came across a large box of books that was about to be thrown away as they didnt sell , he took them home and after sorting through them he came across three books at the bottom of the box.

    1. Holy bible active service edition raf
The blue leather cover is in excellent condition , the only wear is the rear cover coming away from the binding.
There is a signature in the front which looks like L G Sillett but no number.

    2. V C's of the royal navy.
This book has only 19 vc's in it but someone has written in the index at the front another 3.
On the last page about a vc being awarded to a fleet air arm pilot by the name of Gray , is written at the end " this is very inaccurate and is signed
    R L Bigg Wither co sqdn 1841"

    3. The Battle Of Britain Then and Now first edition
This is in excellent condition and takes pride of place on the bookshelf
mainly because of the weight and wow what a book.

I just wonder if the people knew they were in there.

  2. Smudger Jnr

Smudger Jnr Our Man in Berlin

As you say, you just never know.

    An extremely luck find.

    Regards
    Tom

  3. Gage

Gage The Battle of Barking Creek

The ATB Battle of Britain has to be the best Ref book out on the battle. Good find.
