Who Had the Best Helmet of World War Two?;)

Things are a bit flat on the board lately. I don't like playing the straight man, Boy I'm really asking for it, so I thought I'd liven things up with this poll, If you're not laughing at this point no one can help you:lol: .

The Germans, Their helmets were designed to protect from the rear view- upper view. And in fact the Americans even use their helmet designs today.

I'd have to go with Germany too, better neck protection, and they were just plain cool looking.

Lugers, P-38s, Broom Handles, PPs, PPKs, K98 snipers, G43/41s all highly collectible especially if the serial numbers match.

Do you mean "best" as in looks or protection given to the wearer?
Only way to figure that out is the impossible task of comparing the chances of survival of a head hit from firearms, sharpnel etc whilst wearing the different helmets.
Anyone fancy wearing a helmet while we shoot at you?

PZ Don't worry about Plant-Pilot. He spent too much time with the evil weed bouncing up and down in that M-3 of his. He should of had one of those early war Panzer hats with the padding;)

I went for the German helmet on the grounds of neck protection. The subsequent adoption of a similar shaped helemt by the US I think shows the merits of this design. Had the criteria been looks then I'd have been looking for a 'none of them' option as I don't think that any helmets look good; to my mind soldiers look much better if they wear soft headgear when away from combat zones.
