Hi, I would like to announce that I have purchased these forums from Nick today. Nick is moving on to do other things and I am sure you will all wish him well. I dont want to make this a long post at this point so I will make it fairly short and to the point, please dont hesitate to ask any questions. Put simply my intentions for the site are to develop it further and make it into a very informative and complete reference to the 2nd world war. I have a geat interest in the 2nd world war, much of my interest initially came from the fact that my Grandfather was one of the first British servicemen to arrive at Hiroshima after the atomic bomb was dropped, he was serving on HMS Chaser at the time and brought back a number of pictures right after the event, this fuelled my interest in the war and it has just grown since then. More of that later I really just wanted to say that Nick has done a great job so far with the site and I am completely open to suggestions for its future development. So please let me know your thoughts. I will be transferring the site to my uk server this evening so there wil be some downtime as the domain name resolves but it should not be too long. Everything will stay as it is for the time being and I would appreciate the current moderators staying on to assist as the site grows. I am a php/mysql developer so I have the skills and the time to take the site to its next level. Anything else you would like to know about me please ask. Thanks Lee Wisener
I'd like to let everyone know that I will not be leaving - I will stay an active member on these forums and hope to see it grow. Personal situations that some of you may be able to relate to have made me put this site on a lower priority, which is not what it needs at this time. Lee will take good care of the site and has good plans for it. I will personally be overseeing the transition from owner to owner until it is complete. The King is dead, Long live the King! Im sure im not alone in thanking Nick for starting this forum, which to my mind has gained an honest reputation and has a relaxed down to earth feel about it. In marked contrast to some of the pretentious super forums (no names) that are out there. Anyway heres wishing Lee well with his plans for the forum and keep up the good work. B)

The first two things that attracted me to buy the forums were that it was relaxed and there were no signs of commercialism (i.e banners everywhere) I want to maintain that as well as developing the site sensibly rather than just information overload.
Also pleased to read this; thanks to Nick for starting it all off and Lee for continuing with it -I also hope that you are UK based, will mean it will become an important resource for those studying and researching WW2 from a UK perspective; the events of this year will certainly generate a MASSIVE interest in the subject. Many of us are WW2 webmasters; if we can help, let us know.
