i am tryjng to find information about the units my Dad served in - Sapper Stanley Leivers 1943870. His service record shows: posted No 3 Training Btn, RE - Ripon 11/11/40 C Coy 3 Training Btn,RE - 12/11/40 Mustered to Pioneer on completion recruit training - 8/3/41 Posted to M Coy for No 3 tunneling No 1 SME Depot Btn, RE - 5/7/41 Joined and posted to 185 (Special) Tunneling Coy - 1/9/41 Passed trade test as miner -24/9/41 Mustered Miner - 8/10/41 185 Coy redesignated 185 Field Coy - 20/3/42 Embarked UK - 11/7/44 3 Div and 17 Field Coy - 15/8/45 BAOR to MEF -12/10/45 Finding anything about 185 Coy difficult although I know there are war diaries at Kew WO 171/5494 which I have not been to see yet. If anyone has any information I would be very grateful.
