CL1 There may be an error with her date of death on CWGC - Downloading and looking at the page below from Ancestry there seem to be quite a few deaths in Torpoint on or around 22/23 April 1941, and Muriel is noted amongst them on 22 April not 02 April Also from - http://www.devonheritage.org/Places/Plymouth/CiviliancasualtiesofthebombingofTorpoint.htm M. L. NORTHCOTT Civilian. Muriel Lilian Northcott (née Puckey) of 13 Macey Street, Torpoint. Daughter of Charles and Mabel Puckey (below); wife of Sergeant William Northcott of the RAF. Born in Torpoint in the September 1908. Died at 14 Carew Terrace 2 April 1941 aged 34. If you read through the site the date of 22/23 April appears against many of the deaths but the one above does say 02 April - its confusing, her parents (Mr & Mrs Puckey) are recorded as being killed 14 Carew Terrace 22 April 1941? http://www.westernmorningnews.co.uk/crew-huge-loss-small-community/story-11713950-detail/story.html Apparently it was called the "Five night blitz" 21st/25th: The stage was set for the centre piece of the destruction by explosion and fire of the City of Plymouth - the “Five Night Blitz”, which was also to have serious peripheral effect on south-east Cornwall, especially Saltash. http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/ww2peopleswar/stories/61/a8346161.shtml TD edited to add the underlined few words
Unfortunately the death details do not state the exact date just a date of registration - I guess the cert would say the exact date??
