In the movie Patton George C Scott, just before being informed that he would be in command of the ficticious FUSAG, which was to make the Germans believe the invasion would come at Calais, said the following. I've studied the Overlord Plan and there's a number of flaws in it. You can't depend on Monty taking Cannes by D-day. He'll never make it. I wonder how informed Patton was concerning Overlord. Since he was not taking part in the operation it would seem unlikely that he would have had access to the invasion plans. There was no need to know. Did Gen. Patton see the invasion plans ahead of time or is this just Hollywood?
Andy, one should NEVER take Holywood as a historical source, look at the recent "Pearl Harbor" , "Enemy at Gates", "Anzio" with Robert Mitchum, etc, etc. Well, Hollywood and anything that comes out from a screen, History Channel for instance and others of the kind
