I found this site today and though it's a bit quirky, there's a lot of interesting WW2 stuff. Photographs, documents etc etc American National Archives Mike
Just out of interest - does anyone know how much it would cost to get copies of documents? I took a gander and found some translated German documents pertaining to the capture of St Valery but they are not available online.
No idea but I contacted them re the site not working and they replied quite quickly. give them a shout Contact the National Archives Mike
I tried previously to have a researcher find and copy some documents for me - it isn't cheap. One thing I found was that it will depend on which building your documents are in as some researchers specialise in certain buildings and also I believe the buildings are often not next door to each other if you follow my drift. If you know exactly which documents you want copying it will make life easier and less expensive, I was initially told the documents I wanted were in a file, but then that file somehow split into 8 different sub files and the guy was saying the cost would rise to something in the region of $8,000 to copy them all as he couldnt tie down which exactly held the details I wanted. If you look at the NARA web site it does provide details of the researchers you can hire, and the specialisations (talking US already) they each have TD National Archives | Using A-Z index Subject Index scroll down to research and check it out
