There is a publication by a former member of the regiment, but it's rare and hard to find:

It seems to me that my g'dad pretty much spent the whole of Anzio in hospital or recovery?

Scot, thanks for the heads up that I got off Owen over the weekend;).. The only thing is, I read it at about 04.00 hrs on Monday morning. Went to work & did not get back until tonight (the joys of work)! So I'm late to your thread. I can see your in safe hands.. Good work by the way Charley. See the scans below. I obtained the book a while back for £15.00 from Stellabooks.Com.

For once, I'm in a pickle! Of a norm, I would have said start a conversation with me regarding doing some scans for you. Only problem is, its a paperback & I do not want to split the spine. Do you reside in the UK? Its a book of 255 pages.. The maps could have been done better! The rest of it is spot on. I'm guessing that there could be someway around this, if you have a decent camera? A splendid Division by the way. My Grandfather was a machine gunner with them:cool:

    Regards
    Stu.

Scot, I will not be doing that. I once did that a while back with another paper back & it was ruined.Thankfully it was not rare. I'm willing to lend you the book on condition that you do not put it face down on a scanner. You may have some other way of copying it?

Don't bother copying the maps, its like a kid has drawn them! I've got the originals from the Divisional histories. Will send them on.
The illustrations are pretty good & sharp. You will see all regarding the difference when you get them & view the ones in the book.
Clock the Preface in the book.

If you wish to start a conversation with me & give me your address, then I can send you the book. I will also give Frank's address so that you can post it on to him.Two birds killed with one stone.! I'm sure he will not mind.

Regards, P.S. I will also require your Email address.

Charley, I've sent the book to Scott who is on with the job of copying it! Also sent the relevant original maps that are in the book.

This book may be of interest to yourself, & will send on if required? This Division not normally being your bag.

    Top stuff, Stu.

I would be kind of half interested in the book, but I'm going to pass--you wouldn't believe the stack of reading I have waiting.

Good of you to offer all the same--think collectively we've set Scott well along on the path.

Charley, a slight correction. Pantelleria is not in Sicliy. 1 Division captured the island before the invasion of Sicily started. Please See map below.

Second Lieutenant i'd guess but that looks like a large pip,is that normal?

    I stand corrected.

It probably was a part of Sicily a few million years ago, but I don't think that's a good defence for me.
