I would be grateful for any info Chris
Chris, my grandfather was in the 225 and just before his death wrote up a history of the company in WWII. He doesn't say much about this incident but here it is for what it's worth: The month of September began with Lt Osborne being posted to another Unit. 1 Sgt and 11 men were posted to 61st Division RE and 15 NCOs and men transferred from that Division to 225. No 1 Section were sent on detachment to Bisterne Park. No 3 Section were working in Bournemouth - Boscombe area, part of their work involved demolishing part of Boscombe Pier. An unfortunate accident with a beach mine caused the death of an officer and 2 L/Cpls., a sad day! Lee
Lee thanks for that; Im going to contact Bournemouth Council tomorrow. Heres hoping that I have found him Chris

Lt Winter joined the 225 on 30th June 1940 so it all ties in with what's in my grandfather's history. Unbelievably I don't actually have a copy of all the 225 war diaries but I will copy the diary covering this period on Thursday to see if it gives any more details. Lee
Lee, very interesting, I am keen to know how to get a copy of the unit history for the 225th. My father Edward McIntosh was transferred to the 225th from the Royal artillary around January 1940 and remained with them until the end of the North African campaign. Any assistance would be gratly appreciated. regards Trevor

I will get the other diaries shortly and can share those with you as well. I will be self-publishing the 225 history that my grandfather put together in the near future. Best wishes, Lee
Been in touch with Bournemouth Council; sadly no record of his burial in any of their cemeteries Chris
Chris I found the details of the marriage of Ronald S Perry to Edith Irene Creswell. It occurred in 1933 in Walsall, Staffordshire. If the bodies of 2 of the three were found, maybe Perry was taken back to Walsall, provided of course that he and his wife lived in the area. Cheers - Rob
Hi Lee, sorry for the delayed response. My family moved to Australia in 1950 so there was no opportunity to go to any reunions. We did live in the UK between 77 _79 and my father did attempt to find some of his old unit mates without success except a few listed on war memorials. The internet certainly makes searching so much easier.
Hi Been researching Walsall and area Rolls of Honour for eons now, and he is not mentioned on any near here !! Regards, Graeme
Hi Told a fib above. I've found him on the Darlaston War Memorial so he could be buried in Walsall/Darlaston/Wednesbury. If Fowler is buried in Bournemouth East Cemetery in Grave U.I.144 and Dovey is in U.I.146, is there a chance Perry could be buried in U.I.145 ??? Regards, Graeme
