I cannot tell from his arm patch which unit this medic is from. The two women appear to be Montenyard. That is quite some smoke the one woman has and what is that in the younger womans pocket?
These villagers are being interrogated by a soldier in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, we called such soldiers Arvins. The G.I. is sitting next to what appears to be his radio and associated pack. Awaiting interrogation? The sergeant's patch that of the 23rd Infantry Division known as the "Americal."
