    CWGC confirmed details on their site are correct but family headstone states Sergeant Home Guard ex KRRC
    Any further details appreciated thank you.

    CWGC replied very quickly with my query



    The information on the private memorial represents the detail which the family chose to have engraved, following the casualty's burial - the information we have, is as provided after the war by the Service Authorities, and then verified by the next of kin after the war.

    The marker itself was inspected in April last year and found to be acceptable at that time.

    Just noticed - on the gravestone his rank is Sgt, but both CWGC and the Find a Grave Index both have him as Cpl
