I'm no expert but I believe it is a M26 Pershing Tank ...I'm sure someone will correct me No it isn't Pershing Tank. It's M18 Hellcat tank destroyer Bada-bing! Tch, corrected by a "Junior Member"

The following are a series of screen shots from the July 17, 1941 Deutsche Wochenschau. This bit of video montage was cut with several sequences of 20mm light flak firing at a ground target. The shots document the attempts of Russian troops to escape encirclement. I believe that this may have been during the great encirclement of Kiev. The first shot shows a KV-1 escaping with a bright truck driver sheltering his vehicle behind the KV-1 A few frames later in the same sequence. Here a KV-1 passes very close to the cameraman. In this shot German infantry sheltered at the edge of a wood fire on Russian vehicles escaping. In the shot you can just make out the outline of what I think is a Russian armored car, just to the left of the second tree on the right. Here a Russian truck quite clearly loaded with infantrymen races past the German position. The left most truck has been stopped.
No caption with the photo. Could this be from the Oosterbeek area during OMG? The marking on the rear of the photo says "De Booys Foto Arnhem B4417" (see pic). I've trawled through several books including the ATB "Then & Now" volumes on OMG but can't find it anywhere..............
hmm not sure, could be, but can not make out the white markings on the tree, it is possible that a German brought the photo to the booys shop in Arnhem to got in developed, as they had a shop in arnhem.
it also seems that the Waffen SS emblem on the guys helm was no longer in use in 1944, so probably a 1940 Holland photo

Paul, Just cos the shape, I think the SS had a white shield with SS on. The Heer had a little German flag or flash if I remember correct. Quickly phased out. Kev

'Monday 18th September' section has a picture titled:- 'Men of the 9th SS Panzer Division shortly before going into action near the Museum, probably on Tuesday 19th.' Thanks for the link Jamie. I've taken the liberty of attaching the pic you mentioned directly to this post. Perhaps this means the photo I posted originally could be from Arnhem/Oosterbeek????
