Back in the late 1960s Rolls Royce decided to make revenue from its extensive computer education and training capacity. This meant running residential courses for customers in a variety of locations, usually tourist hotels out of season. A good example was a four week course in Systems Analysis. The course material (all on paper) had to be delivered. The somewhat plumptious secretary responsible for this drove one of these little cars. Everything was packed in around her, the roof opened so that flip charts rolled up in cardboard tubes could be loaded in vertically. So tightly was the car packed that at the other end she could not get out until it was unloaded! Not exactly safe but the rules were laxer then.
A time bomb methinks Robert the fuel tank is in the front under the bonnet passenger side (original left hand drive) and the driver just about squeezed in but just about right for weaving in and out of London traffic and easy parking.
At the time it was regarded as a somewhat superior bubble car. I suppose the pre war equivalent were things like the Morgan and BSA cycle cars
I confess I had never heard of Minnie Lansbury (nee Glassman). Allow me to make amends: 1911 Census - 37 Chicksand St, Whitechapel: East Ham Jewish Cemetery, London Borough of Newham:
