I'm trying to find the title/subject of Army Form 102 which does not have a title/subject heading.

It's similar to Army Form 103 -1 whose title/subject is 'Service and Casualty Form'.

    Anybody any ideas???

Does anyone know what a Corps Rest Station (CRS) was in WW2? I'm going through a soldier's Army records and he was admitted to a CRS in Scotland and discharged a few days later. I'm there presuming that they were some sort of medical facility, particularly as the soldier in question spent quite a lot of time in and out of hospitals.

CRS is a camp reception station.

    Lee,

Many thanks. Camp Reception Station 'fits the bill'. It was presumably the forerunner of MRS - Medical Reception Station.

Well Done Alistair. Detail is “paramount” eh:) I’m just surprised there isn't a Brigade of Guards variation!

I’ve always called it a Central Registry Index Card but I’m not sure whether I saw that written somewhere or I merely adopted the term myself.

    Alistair,

Many thanks but, forgive my ignorance, what was a 'Paramount Card'?

The AF B102 I have is that of a Lovat Scouts (Corps of Scouts) soldier who joined the TA in 1939. That year, the Lovat Scouts were re - roled as an Infantry battalion. So, any idea which of the AFs B102 in your list would be his - I reckon it must be either:
    • B102-2 Paramount Card (Regular) for TA, Infantry and Cavalry,
    • B102-11 Paramount Card Corps, TA (pink) or
    • B102-15 Paramount Card Militia, A and B, RA Cavalry and Infantry.
    Grateful for your comments.

    Hi,

I can only assume “Paramount” is the descriptive term the Army used for the Index Card?

Perhaps as it was considered the most important form as it condensed much important information into one form?

Perhaps a 'Paramount card' was the one with headings etc, relating to specific Corps and Units, to be completed initially.

And thereafter standard 'continuation' cards were used - which could be used for all services/units ???

    Just a thought.

Sorry, nothing else I can add I'm afraid - I have a manual that lists Army Forms and this is just a note of the relevant ones - it doesn't go into any more detail.
