    Hello Chaps

I was wondering if anyone could help with these pictures, hopefully just to make them more discernable, perhaps a little colour if you are bored!

Ideally I'd like the black & white ones sharpened up which would be great

Does anyone think that the second picture is taken outside Buckingham Palace. You can just see the out line of the gates and pillars in the background.

You have got good eyesight! That is my grandfather, and I can confirm the photo was taken outside Buckingham Palace!

What medal was he collecting / awarded and what years was this 1919-20.

Did he have to travel far to get to Buckingham Palace?

certainly an impressive set of medal ribbons. It could almost be WW2 as it looks as if the chap behind him has what looks the size a gas mask case!!

I think this was about 1919. Collected his bar to his Military Cross. He also was awarded the Croix de Guerre. He would have travelled from Yorkshire.
