    Andy,

Might be able to help with this at sometime in the future. Not being an expert by any means on the army, I take it that 1 RUR relates to Royal Ulster Rifles?

    Andy,

Is this your man, listed in the war graves list of St.Andrews Clewer. Had a lot of help from the Church Warden.

JONES, Capt. Ian Russell Aylmer, 129585.
1st (Airborne) Bn. The Royal Ulster Rifles.
20th February, 1943. Age 26. Son of Felix
Edward Aylmer Jones and Cecily Minnie
Jane Jones, of Weybridge, Surrey; husband of
Anne Margaret Jones of Weybridge. Near
    N.W. Corner of Church.

It is in Section C Grave 42

    Andy,

Went down to St.Andrews Church, Windsor today and took a few photos, I was a bit surprised to see the grave was not the usual military type, also wondered why Jones was buried in Windsor and not Weybridge where his family lived.

Mum popped over today with her dog in her little Daewoo Matiz.
I suggested a run out to Watchfield with the kids so after getting the photo taken we played on the Airey Neave Memorial Play-park and had "elevensies" in Micky D's.

These have been transferred to Berkshire due to 1974 boundary changes.

There are 3 Aussie flyers from WW2 (1 RAF) buried in 2 cemeteries in Oxfordshire that are still to be photographed. If you can take photographs of headstones or know somebody that can, please let me know.
