Just pinged and tracerouted, the hardware seems to be alive. Hope the backups are OK.

There was a similar fault on another InVision board I frequent a month or so ago - it was down for about eight hours, but doesn't use InVision's servers.

The good news is they successfully rescued all four and a half million posts.

    An update...

    " the latest update is

I apologize for the lengthy delay. Due to the size of the database and
server resources, we're having difficulty getting the repair completed.
We are attempting again, please stand by for further updates....

In the meantime, a good place to keep up with updates when the forum is down is the "Pals of the Great War Forum" page on Facebook "

Don't understand the intricate technical details of webpages but was it absolutely necessary to scrap the old system? Was it a case of "If it ain't broke don't mend it"?

Tony - they had to do an update to the software as the previous version was out of date and no longer supported by their Server which meant if it went wrong they would not fix it.

I don't think this current issue has anything to do with the new software.
