Hi, my name is Michael Edward Rowley I recently did a search of my Great Uncle George Edward Baker who was my Grandmas brother on my mothers side and where I got my middle name . He was killed by a mine on the 12th August 1944 and by the looks of it was your grandads mate he was a sapper in the 17th field company. I have attached a pic.

 

I remember my grandad telling me about someone being killed by a mine, my grandfather was quite traumatized by the incident.
