    Thanks for posting that information. I will read it with interest.

    A very close friend of our Family served with the Prinses Irene brigade and was also on the staff of Prince Bernhard.

    He used to get strange looks from people during the annual reunions as the Prince always made a point of talking to him.

    He was also a guest of honour at Prince Bernhard's funeral. Although our friend is alive, he is quite frail now and has never really talked about his war time experiences. A posting such as this gives me pleasure to read and to learn more about the unit he served in

    Sadly I have just received a card from our very close friend's family informing us that he passed away on Sunday 5th April 2009.

    RIP - Rumoldus Wilhelmus van den Bogaert, aged 85 :poppy:

    Awarded the eremedaille Oranje Nassau in Silver
