Hi to all, does anyone have a original copy of the battle history of the 1st ARMOURED DIVISION by George F. Howe Washington Combat Forces Press? My reprint went to press in 1979. A tidy reprint but most of the illustrations are not like the originals. I'm after a sharp copy of the two illustrations that are Campoleone, near Anzio. The village at the top left margin is Genzano, The one below is Campoleone, looking toward Cori on mountain side in background. Any help on this would be appreciated. I've only seen these images in this book. If I can get decent quality images then i will post them in time. Regards, Stu.
Stu. As it's a US unit I've edited out the U. That might get the US members to notice it, who may not otherwise look .
I'm thinking of idler when it comes to the British members. I would be surprised if he does not have a original copy of the book? His collection of books is huge. On the US members, i think dryan67 may have a copy? If these two chaps do not have a copy then i will have to look else where? Its not a problem. Thanks Stu.
Sorry, not got that one. I have a handful of US unit and official histories but not many in the grand scheme of things. There have been temptations, but I've kept focus on the Indians rather than the cowboys...
The cowboys do have a archive of photos. Not sure what its called? Some cowboy should be able to tell us what its called? I'm thinking 5th Army. That Mark whats his name Clarke.. Wayne middle name i think..
Thanks idler. That's the one. They normally have two small circles with what looks like two flags in the inner one. I would have to see if they have a website.?
