    Hi all,

Does anyone know where No.1 Infantry Reinforcement Training Depot was located in North Africa during the spring of 1943? I know it was on the coast and have the impression it was in Algeria or northern Tunisia but it would be great if anyone could say for definite.

    Cheers

Thanks Tom - appreciate that. Have been checking in all my files but it's only referred to by its establishment title rather than any location.

AS we got off the boat at Algiers we noted some 3 tonners standing empty and thought " Thank God we don't have to walk too far in this heat of 90dg PLUS…" ……WRONG

those were for the 6th Black Watch(Infantry) reinforcements as their camp was SIX miles away - we Tank men had to walk to Cap Matifou - TEN miles away - that was our first lesson

    Cheers
